26/08: Mini chefs August camp: Bread class
Get ready for a cosy, hands-on baking adventure with a rustic Irish classic! In this soda bread and crafts workshop, children aged 3 to 5 will discover the magic of turning just a few simple ingredients into a warm, golden, fresh-from-the-oven loaf.
With friendly guidance, little chefs will help pour and mix flour, stir in creamy buttermilk, squish their dough into a soft round, and mark a little cross on top — the traditional Irish way! Along the way, they'll practise basic kitchen skills like pouring, mixing, pressing, and shaping — while exploring new textures and the comforting smell of bread baking in the oven.
While the bread bakes, the fun continues with a creative arts and crafts activity inspired by the day — keeping little hands busy and big imaginations bubbling.
This workshop focuses on creativity, confidence, and having fun in the kitchen. Expect happy faces, a bit of flour everywhere, and very proud little bakers ready to bring their warm soda bread home.
