26/10: Gourmet October camp - Autumn flavours

£99.00

Pull up a chair and get ready for the most comforting, soul-warming cooking session of the season. This class is pure autumn on a plate!

This is all about the kind of food that makes you want to stay indoors when the leaves start falling outside. Generous, hearty, deeply flavoured dishes that take simple autumn ingredients and turn them into something truly memorable.

We begin with a whole chicken in a pot, one of the most rewarding things you can cook. Your young chefs will build everything from scratch: tucking herbs and aromatics inside the bird, surrounding it with chunky autumn vegetables, and letting the oven work its slow, gentle magic. They'll discover how time and steam transform raw ingredients into something deeply fragrant and tender, and why sometimes the simplest approach produces good results.

Then we roll up our sleeves for a creamy leek pie. Your children will make their own pastry from scratch, slowly soften leeks until they're silky and sweet, and bring together a filling that is rich, creamy, and wrapped in the golden crust.

Our chefs will be alongside everyone throughout, sharing the know-how behind slow roasting, building flavour from scratch, and the little pastry tricks that make the difference between a good pie and a great one.

By the end of the session the pot is open, the pie is sliced, and your young chefs sit down together to a proper autumn lunch they cooked entirely themselves. Warm and generous, it is exactly what this time of year calls for.
