19/10: Gourmet October camp - Autumn baking
Step into our professional kitchen and get ready for the most delicious autumn adventure!
This class is all about the magic of autumn baking: warm spices, cosy smells, and the satisfaction of making something truly spectacular from scratch.
First up: homemade speculoos! Ever wondered what makes that iconic spiced biscuit so irresistible? We're going to find out together. Our young bakers will mix their own secret spice blend, work the dough with their hands, roll it out, cut their favourite shapes, and bake them to a perfect golden snap. The kitchen is going to smell absolutely incredible.
Then we go big. Our showstopper of the day is a carrot and cardamom cake with a dreamy orange blossom cream cheese frosting. We're talking a proper, beautiful, bakery-worthy cake — made entirely by the kids themselves. They'll mix the batter, bake the layers, and then comes the best part: stacking, filling, and frosting their very own creation. Messy? Possibly. Delicious? Absolutely.
Along the way, our chefs will share the little tricks and techniques that make all the difference — why spices need time to bloom, how carrots make a cake magically moist, and what it takes to get that frosting perfectly smooth.
It's a class full of laughter, great smells, and real baking skills — and every young chef goes home with something they made entirely themselves.
