27/08: Gourmet August camp - Italian cuisine
Bring the warmth and comfort of an Italian family kitchen into your home with this hands-on cooking workshop for children! Discover the secrets behind two of Italy's most beloved classics — a rich, golden lasagna and a silky, dreamy panna cotta.
This interactive class guides young chefs step-by-step through traditional Italian techniques and timeless flavours, from simmering a slow-cooked ragù and whisking together a velvety béchamel to layering a perfect lasagna and setting a delicate, wobbling panna cotta. Discover the magic of slow cooking, the comfort of bubbling cheese in the oven, and the elegance of a dessert made from just cream, sugar, and a whisper of vanilla — the simple joys that make Italian cooking so beloved.
During the workshop, the children will:
Simmer a rich, slow-cooked ragù with tomatoes, fresh herbs, and a hint of garlic
Whisk together a velvety béchamel — the white sauce that makes a true Italian lasagna sing
Layer and bake their very own bubbling, golden lasagna alla bolognese
Make a dreamy vanilla panna cotta, served with a vibrant berry coulis
Build real kitchen skills and pick up practical tips to recreate these classics at home
