17/02: Mini chefs: Italian cuisine
Calling all little food explorers! In this fun, hands-on workshop, our Mini Chefs (ages 3–5) will roll up their sleeves, put on their aprons, and discover the joy of cooking while making a delicious Bolognese pasta
In this hands-on Bolognese pasta class, our mini chefs will explore cooking through simple, familiar ingredients and gentle kitchen activities designed especially for young children.
During the session, children will help prepare a classic Bolognese-style sauce using vegetables, herbs, and pasta. They will practise washing, stirring, pouring, and mixing while learning how everyday ingredients come together to make a comforting meal.
The class is calm, playful, and sensory-focused, encouraging children to touch, smell, and talk about food in a positive and pressure-free environment. The emphasis is on participation and confidence rather than technique or speed. All heat and cutting tasks are handled by adults, with children safely involved at every appropriate step.
At the end of the session, children are encouraged to taste their dish and share what they enjoyed about the cooking process.
Key benefits:
Builds early cooking confidence and independence
Develops fine motor skills and coordination
Encourages curiosity about ingredients and flavours
Supports positive food experiences and social interaction
No previous cooking experience is needed—just curiosity and enthusiasm.
